I've been planning on this blog for a real long time, but unfortunately never got around to it because interesting things always came up during my composing this blog. It has been long since I had a real blog, everything was some other misc. updates. Interesting events piled up since then and I'm ready to blog. Two main events happened. According to Ken on his blog, i'm obligated to blog about prom, therefore I will. And secondly, there's the Peer-2-Peer potluck!!! The biggest gathering of the fobs.

Let's talk about the potluck first. It was actually planned ever since before the AP test, when Rosalyn and some other people proposed to throw a post AP potluck to celebrate the end of AP testing. At the same time, Stanley's birthday is around AP time, we always joke that ever since sophmore year all he does during his birthday is studying AP. The day began with my going to buy b-dary card for Stanley. I went to Farr's Stationer and got him this cute doggie card. Then, I went to pick up my food to bring to the potluck. After waiting around for 20 minutes approximately and finally had the restaurant prepared my food, I called Lindsey and went and pick up up to go to Stanley's house. I went there and the first person I saw was her dad. Her dad was really really nice to me, which surprised me a lot. SInce we already know of each other because of church, I expected him to be quite polite, but I didn't expect he'd be so gentle (is that a good adjective? [you'd imagine he'd strictly be polite only.] ) He realized I was waiting for Lindsey, and asked me to come inside and wait for her.... it was really embarassing if you know what I mean. However, there's nothing i can do about it, if I refuse him, that wouldn't bode very well, so I just walked toward the house. Luckily, Lindsey came out of the house just in time, and saved me embarassment (Thanks Lizzy) She brought desert that she made, and afterward when I had a taste it was really really good. Those who have tasted it knows it's really nice, hehe. Once we got to Stanley;s house we did some preparation for the potluck to began, and after a little while when everyone was here (and had their foods), we started to eat. It was the biggest coglomeration of food, nerds, and FOBS i have ever seen (other than at school, but that's everyday, doesn't count). Part of the MOB - Tiffany, Staci, and Susan came. They came and gobbled up food... it's really nice to see them come and join the festivity. The AP English people then started to discuss the movie "Seven", a really disturbing movie that they had to watch for the English film analyisis homework. They were discussing if they should sympathize with the killer.... Later on we decide to drop the topic because it's too disturbing and we were all eating. People got so hyper, and when I was walking around with my drink, someone accidentally bumped me and I spill some coke over Staci's cloth... i'm SORRY Staci... forgive me. However, people at the party are pretty conscious and cleaned it up really really well. Stan's mom called me half a host because I go to their house so much.. .sigh.. i guess it's very true.
So we had our party, and the main event was DDR!! It was a lot of fun to see all the people jumping around and dancing. hehe. I think most people who went there played. I ended up driving around Andrew twice to go and get his burned copies of DDR remixes and also to Oliver's house to get his playstation that was modified and can play burned copies. There were four playstations in the house that day:Stan's PS2, Chloe's PSOne, Shirley's PS1, and Oliver's PS1. Diana and James, at least, took some photos, go check them out and you will find out that we practically forced all the people played DDR with their date, and yes, myself included. All the couples played together, it was really interesting to see how they did. Personally, i think Lizzy and I were the best, bias aside :p we played so much... probably more than any other date combination. If Drushti was there, Andrew and her would have probably beaten us hands down, but she wasn't there.. too bad. Staci and Oliver... they didn't do it but wellz, you know Oliver, he's really lost... but if they actually did it Staci might have carried his butt through and they would pass... kudos to Staci. Jeevitha and Stanley were horrible, and they agreed, they can't even pass the easiest level i think... they failed middle way through... which makes me wonder, there are so little arrows in the easy mode, that I dont think you can fail even if you let go 85% of the arrows, but it's ok, at least they attempted to dance. Vincent + Rosalyn was even more horrendous. Vincent, for one, probably have never played the game before, and Rosalyn...we had to teach her how to do the TUTORIAL!!! THE TUTORIAL!!!! and i think she still didn't pass the tutorial. They failed miserably. Diana and Kirk passed, but it was on easy mode around only 2 feet. samK and Alice, they're a little bit different. For those of you who knows them, they're both very good with beats and both are wonderful piano player, I'm convinced that although they're not as good now, with some practice they'll become better. Ruby and William also gave it a shot. From the previous day's experience, we knew that Ruby really isn't bad; she's not crazy, but she's not bad... but William... let's just say his dance was as good as P!NK playing basketball - bound to be horrible. Venus and Ken looked very nice together, i have to say, they make really good couple. That being said, Ken cannot dance, but Venus was able to carry him through... nice going Venus. We really played a lot of DDR, it's not even funny. We also celebrated Stanley's birthday. We bought a cake for 21 dollars, and of course, we needed to split the cost among 31 individuals... the the grand total of cost per person came out to be something less than a dollar (even though some of use still played a dollar.. who didn't pay go talk to Kirk please). It took awhile for everyone to leave, but it was really good fun... the last nine people left, after cleaning up Stanley's house, decided to go to Guppy's and eat.
We went to Guppys and found Wei working. Wei noted that he's so tired so seeing us, because it seems that everytime he works there, he sees me and Ruby and some other people a lot. Of course he was joking, but I do feel like we crash Guppy a lot... because whenever we decided to go out to eat, we don't know where to go... only Guppy seemed decent.. i guess this bode well for Guppy's advertisement. The nine of us, namely The flying Hu brothers, James, Ruby, me, Andrew, Oliver, Vincent and Venus. We got nine bowls of Beef Stew noodle, and Wei said he felt really really sorry for all the cows out there. Charles and Carlus eats beef stew noodles (which will be affectiontately called BSN from now on) at a very slow rate. I think everyone finished before Carlus did. However, they said that BSN are the only thing that they eat really slowly. The topic that came up during the dinner was really whacked, but that wasn't so surprising, considering that Oliver was here with us. He talked about how to modify a toy gun into a real one, and also how the light at Guppy's change from time to time. They also talked about crashing into restrooms when someone is in it... don't ask me why. Then they orderd shaved ice w/ mango and everyone had a blast eating it... and also some lost brain cells and had brain freeze. Oliver also talked about his runner's high...we all knew that it came with endorphines, but we also concluded that human bodies are tolerant to these hormones, so the more you have, the body needs more to feel the effect of the hormone, just like drugs... which explain why Oliver needs a longer run, more tiring run to get him into the runner's high mode. He said a measely 3 miles will not get him the runners high. So much for three to four years of cross country. Eating in Guppys was the way I ended my eventful potluck day. It was a lot and a lot of fun.

Secondly, I need to blog about my interesting experience at Guppy's when I met Srishti and James at Guppy's. It was a sunny morning that day when Roslyn invited us all to her house to do some civics studying. Of course, being the meticulous and hard working students we are, Charles, Christina, Tony, Shirley, and Ruby and I all went. We " studied" how to slow dance for prom and also studied Rosalyn in her hot red prom dress (even though she didn't wear it to prom...) After a whole afternoon of messing around and doing nothing academic, we decided that we will go to Guppy's go get food (this is before Potluck). So we went, Tony had to leave so we didn't keep him, but we also went and picked up Carlus on our way so he can go with us too. So we went to Guppy's, and the first thing we noticed was that there are some many familiar faces at Guppy's. LIke previously stated, Wei works there, so he saw us. It's the second time he saw me with friends, so he's used to me. Also, we saw Tim and Ni, they came to Guppys and eat, it was really nice~~ But of course, that is not the main event that I'm talking about. We basically intercepted Sushi and Jhumba at Guppy's. It was really interesting... See, James claimed that he made a wrong turn, he shouldn't have attempted to come to Guppy's. Sushi had this really virgin white dress (according An-chan), and the girls were aaawwwwwed by her dazzling beauty. Of course we later asked her if she really dressed up. As expected, Sushi gaves us an affirmative negative, but we all knew better. Later on, as we start to eat, we start to rate girls cuz An-chan would like to know what guys think of girls. According to the three guys, we rated girls in three categories: style, personality, and looks. we rated Rosalyn, Tiffany, Staci, Susan, An-chan, Ruby, and Diana(jellybean). To cut a long story short, i will just blog the total composite score of each. Rosalyn got a 6 on look, but her red prom dress that day gave her 3 brownie points, so she's up to a 9 (her composite score was a 8, but according to her, 10). Tiffany was an overall 9 from all the guys, and also got an 8 on personality. Ruby had the highest style point at 10, and her intelligent aura netted her a composite 9. Staci got an 8. An-chan was a little difficult to rate, she's very androgynous, but she did get an 8 for personality, and 2 for looks (SORRY An-chan). Diana got a 9 in looks, but we don't her well enough to giver her other grades. Susan had 6 in looks, 9 in style, and 8 in personality. That was how we ended, even though they did buy shaved ice and ate it at a lightning speed.

NOW, FINALLY I CAN GET TO BLOG ABOUT PROM.
Prom day started by my going to church to practice worship. It took 1 1/2 hour to get down and after that i went to James' house. I got there at around 11:30, and didn't really spend time to prepare until around 2:45. Meanwhile, I IMed Lizzy about some final prom time/preparation item, and also IMed James even though he was right next to me. I went to buy food and boba with James' bike, and came back with boba spilled all over my body. I didn't even finish my food... i think some of it is still in James' refrigerator. I did not finish my food, cuz I really didn't have time to eat... it was getting close to the supposed time that we go pick up the girls to get our pictures taken. I took a shower in James' house. i'm glad that I acutally figured out how his shower work quite quickly. See, my usual problem is that I don't know how a shower work so I'd turn on cold water and wait for it to turn warm... Don't Ask. I finished showering and then had to change into my tux, and still IMing Lizzy about preparation. While I was changing into my tux (the cheapest of them all, Lizzy have great taste AND knows how to pick inexpensive items), William rang the door bell and came to change into his tux and do his hair. Stanley also came, and his hair was masterness, very very good looking. The person who did his hair did a good job. We dubbed him "mafia" style cuz he was also wearing his glasses, it was really really nice. For a picture of it please check James's website. Anyways, we all changed into our tux, and did our hair. James tried to help me gel my hair, and then he found out that he has never geled someone else's hair before, which is understandable. So i ended up doing it myself, but it didn't look so shabby I think. After a while we ran a little late, because William came five minutes late without anything done. We spent time for him to put on his butler style tux, and after a lot of fuss, was finally on our way. Meanwhile, Ruby constantly called and was telling us to get to Joanna's ASAP. First, James, Stanley and I went to get our corsages and bouttenier(spelling?), we then drove and went to pick up Srishti. Let's just say she was all red. Her dress was bright red... and she probably had six layers of make up with a tint of red on the final layer, at first i couldn't believe it was her. She looks so much more mature with make up on. We realize that corsage needs to be kept cool, therefore we turned the AC to the max and focused all the fan into one seat and placed all the corsage over there. Talk about taking care of our corsage, I don't think we ever gave our cool seats to our sibling simply because they seemed to be overheating under direct sunlight.
We then drove to Won's house. William was holding his shoes, hanger, plastic covers; it was all over his hand. Stanley hasn't suited up yet, and it was at this time we realized that we really looked like a mafia group. Sushi looked like mafia boss' wife, Stan looked like mafia boss' son, and James and I looked like we're the bodyguards of thest two guys. How about William, you say? He's the butler that's holding everything. We should have gotten a picture of that. After waiting for 5 minutes and enduring another Ruby phone call, Won came home with Ken, on his car and flowers as well. Really quickly we left with two vans. We went to pick up Vincent and Venus, but then we later realize that Venus still needed to get her hair done and stuff, so she'll join us later when we're taking the pictures. Once we picked up Vincent we realized that he needs to also go and pick up his corsage. His, along with Stan's and mine, were from the same store... He should have told us to pick it up for him.. because we ended up waiting even LONGER!!! We got to the Florist shop, thinking that it will be really really fast, but we just sat in the car and waited. Later on my car sent me as ambassador to go and check out what's going on. We found out that William, out of randomness, he decided to buy flowers for Ruby. Very very cute, but unfortunately WE'RE ALREADY RUNNING VERY VERY LATE!! And Ruby had the nerve to call us and inquire about why we're so late... sigh.. these two are simply one of a kind. FINALLY, once William was done, we went to Joanna's and pick up the girls to get pictures taken. They all looked very very pretty. To those who have seen it's dissappointment, Rosalyn did not have her red dress on, but she had her pink dress on. But no matter what, Rosalyn still looked very pretty (except the girls later on revealed that they did her eyeline really bad... currently in the process of have James digitally remove it). Lizzy looked great, as I knew she would. She didn't wear her glasses, and that was when I realized that how much she and Lillian looked alike, but of coures, they're twins. Lizzy had a creamy white dress on, and I was glad that the corsage I chose (without the advice of mom or any other female) actually matched her dress very nicely. She didn't do her hair because she was in a hurry fro time (>< Deeply sorry to her), but I really feel that she already looked very nice without her hair done. Ruby looked quite nice, probably the most revealing that I've seen her wear, but then again, I rarely see her dress up. Joanna also looked very very nice, and we have to thank her for opening her house for the girls to get ready! Thank you Jomama. We spent a long time in front of the house attempting to figure out how to put on the bottennier on our tux. Lizzy put it on but I think it fell twice.. sigh with one pin it is very difficult. Wellz, we did figure out how to do it.
The picture taking place was really close to Jomama's, we got there in around one minute if you take away waiting time at the light. We got there, and really didn't take that long to wait to take picture, there wasn't anyone there at the shop. We sat around in the shop when other couples were taking it Specifically, we aaawwwed at Mochi and Pill when they took the picture cuz Mochi always does that to us, which proves: what goes around comes around... Mochi gets a taste of her own medicine hehe. Of course Mochi tried to do it to us, but her effort was fruitless, because we knew she was embarassed already (when she makes a fist at you you know you nailed her). While we were taking pics, Venus decided to grace us with her presence. She was dazzling! She looked very very nice. Maybe it's because it's such a big difference from what we always knew as Venus. The Venus we knew isn't exactly the dressy type of girl, but she sure looked experienced on prom day. Later on, Lizzy's eyes got really dry because she was wearing contact, not her usual glasses. Since Ralph and (what's that other store) was right next door, I ran to it to get her eyedrops. We also had to wait for William to get his corsage for Ruby before they can take picture... sigh, once again William...
After we're done with picture taking, we took the girls back to Jomama's house so they can wait for us to pick them up again (laugh at us sure, but it's all good), and then we dispersed to each limo's designated guy house to wait for the limo. When we got there, Alice and Sam K was already there, and we stood around and took picture while we wait. We waited for awhile, but the limo never came. That was when we started to worry about whether or not the Limo will be here. James and I ran around try to call people and also contacting Andrew to make sure that Limo will come. We then decided to drive to Jomama's, thinking that the Limo might go there. We went there, realizing that the limo still didn't come. I was getting into my sadistic MUN mode when the driver made contact with Jomama's house. We then obtain the information that the limo is coming, but it's late. James decided that he will not give any tips, and for good reasons. When we finally got on our limo ride, everyone was a little tired but was relieved. It was, however, almost one hour late and we had thoughts about missing prom... that was real scary. On the way to the prom, we joked around in the limo, and mainly I was saying jokes, but not all of us got it.n Speaking of which, during all of our limo fiasco, Jeevitha finally arrived at Jomama's house, and she didn't look as different as Sushi did, but she was nevertheless pretty also with her lavender dress. We probably joked around for 30 some minutes before the Limo arrived. Finally, we got to the prom location (and I already wrote this much).
The prom place was a real nice place. It looked really grand and liked a palace. When we went in, we had to be checked by the security to make sure we did not bring anything potentially dangerous. I wondered if that was really needed, since it's not like the president of the United States will be there. When we went in we met us with our limo buddies, a.k.a. Andrew and Drushti, they asked about limo, but it was all good. The first thing we did was to eat. They had some Italian buffet stuff or something, it wasn't that bad. Lizzy picked up a lot of food, i was amazed that she can eat quite a lot (but she runs, so she does have the capacity to eat) for her small statue (but real pretty nevertheless). We sat down with Rosalyn, Vincent, Venus, and Ken, and some others, and started to eat. We also saw TIffany, Terrance, Oliver, Staci, Helen, Lex( :P that's for Helen). Tiffany looked real nice, and I gave a compliment about her to Terrance, "Your date looks very beautiful today". Tiffany heard and said thank you. She also complimented that I looked nice, so I said thank you, too. we probably demonstrated the most politeness that night than the whole year combined :-D. Aftter we ate a little while, Oliver, Terrance, Charles, Carlus (sorry if i missed ne one) and I went to sing karoke. We were making completely fools of ourselves, but that was all good, since we're so used to doing that because of the follies. In any case, we sang It's Raining Men and I Want it That Way, it was really funny because none of us really knew how to sing It's Raining Men, so we just winged it with our non-uniformed pitch and key. After we're done, most others were done with their food as well, and I ate slower than others. So when everyone left, Lizzy and I stayed to finish our food and meanwhile enjoy the cool fire stool that keeps warmth some more. The night was cold, so Lizzy and I really appreciated it. After we're done we met up with other people, and basically was just chi-chatting as we waited to take group picture. We went and found James, Sushi, Stan, and Jv eating inside, and we promptly returned Stan's coat to him, he left it with us when they were looking for seats to sit down for dinner. Stan got Jv a gift and she inquired why. I had to translate a real hard chinese saying into English to explain to her that because the chances that we get to know each other is so little, that the fact we do know each other is something unique, therefore it's worth a gift. We waited for quite a long time, but it was needed because rounding up 38 PEOPLE isn't exactly what I called easy.Man! we probably can't even see our own face once the picture developed (later on when we got the pix back, Lizzy and I were in the middle. Yea! word!) It took quite a long time for everything to be done, but once it is, we went to the dance floor~~
Both Lizzy and I didn't exactly danced before, and especailly not in an occasion like this. But I was eager to try and just have some fun. Dance oldies Rosalyn and Ruby immediately got into it, as expected. Tofu was just as advertised, wild and wiggly and freakish, and Ruby wasn't bad either. Tuning up my follies mode, I got into it and tried to dance with them as well. Lizzy was reluctant in the beginning, so I tried to take her to the crowd so she can feel more comfortable. But nothing was as effective as when Tofu grabbed her and danced together!! The effect was immediate, Lizzy got into it from that point on. We danced for a REAL REAL long time, everyone was enjoy themselves. To talk about everyone will take way too long, but there are still things that I'm willing to point out. Jeevitha did her Brittany Spears dance, because everyone was asking her to do it and she finally conceded. Lizzy's famliy probably have not seen her dance as much as she did her whole life as I have that one night, she was a real great dancer! People dubbed that when we're dancing it's really cute because we probably was the only couple did something planned when we were nudged into the middle of the circle: we shimmied... Lizzy's feet started to feel sore after awhile so she and Venus rest up a little bit before they returned to the dance floor. Ken and I talked a bit, and later on we went back to dancing. James started to do those follies move that we did, and everyone started to crack up (like we weren't having a good time already) James did some sung-yop dance that was really really funny. We also tried to step in with the beat, so it looked like a lot of natives around a bond-fire dancing to tribal music. WOoohh just thinking about prom makes me want to dance again. There was only two slow songs, but Lizzy and I danced to both. It was the first time we both slow danced, so we basically just swayed and turned. It's still a nice feeling though. William and Ruby, after all the talking about practicing about how real slow dance should really be, just did the typical high school swaying too... how disappointing (hehe).
So the prom ended with a slow song, and we left tired, but definitely feeling giddy and content. EVEN THOUGH WE'RE NOT extacly done!! On the way home on the limo, many people just closed their eyes and rested. Lizzy and I sang chinese song... i think Sushi and Choco still brings it up once in a while to make fun of me, but it's all good. After we went back to James' house, we cleaned up our stuff , and Jhumba took Sushi home and took me to Jomama's so we can go to ice skating/broomballing. Won drove us over to the place, but that's not before getting lost and not knowing where it is. We had to call up Natalie and Johnny to get the direction to the place. The ice rink was COLD!! So cold that I was temporarilly immobilized, just walking around feeling cold but not playing the game. I started to run after awhile to make myself feel warmer. And when i scored a goal I was all warm already. I asked Lizzy if she was cold, but she said she was ok. I went and got my sweater, but she said to give it to Natalie cuz nattie was really freezing, and so I did. We ran around quite awhile, having a lot of fun. Lizzy fell on ice once, I went to check but she was ok, and that was a relieve. I personally fell like 3 or 4 times going for the ball or running after the ball, but i like doing these stuff so it's really ok. The most interesting thing is actually that my glasses fog up when i leave the ice rink to get stuff. The glasses is really cold, so when it gets in contact with warmer air, the air vapor starts to for water droplet on my glasses, the glasses fogged up in like .5 second, really funny experience.
After broomballing, it was 3:00 something and everyone was hungry and wanted to go to a food place to eat. After much contemplation and even a detour to Terrance's house, everyone decided to go to a tofu pot place that opens 24/7. Tofu pots are good~~ those taste nice and gives your stomach a warm fuzzy feeling afterward without feeling too upset. Many were there, as Phillip, who didn't go to prom, showed up to join out entourage. We played boom-jiggy-boom-boom around the table, but William always seem to mess up when it's his turn, and we laughed at him for uncoordinateness. If there was anything to be learned on prom night, it was eating nicely. Lizzy onced told me don't put too much food into my mouth at once, and I've tried to abide by it ever since, it's really a good habit to have (I know some people will be oo lala over this... namely sushi and jhumba, but it's really good habit to have). I finished very slowly, and Ruby, who has had food with me before, commented about how I am a super fast eater usually, but that night i was really eating slow, i just nodded and conceded that it's true. Not only was the tofu pot real cold, the container was ivory and clay and those doesn't cool down very easily. It was really good food to have, tofu pot, and that was basically how our prom event ended. Won drove us home. When Lizzy got down i was thinking about sending her to her door to complete my duty, but Won drove off, and I was sitting in the back, so no time... when Jomama was sent home the night was getting bright and it's 5 oclock in the morning... i got home around 5:10 I think... then I changed into my pjs and read a little comic and fell asleep immediately at 5:30.... only to wake up at 8:30 next morning to go to church..... hahaha.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
FINALY DONE!
